My approach to this project, was to take something very iconic to the PNW,  Washington in particular, and create a look that could appeal to multiple demographics.  Along with trying to capture that, I wanted to create a versatile logo that could change depending on the product it was placed on.  

Background:

This particular project was a collaborative effort between Cornish College of the Arts and a local marijuana dispensary, Sensi Sweets. With the recent legalization of recreational marijuana, students were encouraged to look at this industry as a new potential for growth in the design world an d figure out how to elevate these brands and their packaging. 

This project was also featured on The Dieline.

I initially presented the client with three logo options to determine which direction he though was more appropriate for his business. While he liked the idea of having a lightening bolt in his logo, his nearby competitor already had this type of imagery. 

We decided to move in the direction of the battery and the "charge bars" and move away from the literal representation of a battery.  

Background:

The goal of the project was to create a logo for a local company located in Hawaii. Battery Bill's LLC was wanting to target a younger demographic (18-25 year olds) with a new line of electronics and portable device chargers. 

This set of graphics was created for the Nintendo Switch Prelaunch on Amazon's Prime Now site. 

I was given complete creative freedom on the look of these graphics. The copy needed to follow Brand standards, but the rest of the image was in my control. I wanted to create something that had a crisp tech feel to it, but also captured the playfulness of this console. The teal color had that perfect energy to it and partnered with the gradient and the circuit board pattern, I feel like it accomplishes just that. 

This was a very short campaign that was used on both Amazon and Prime Now platforms. 

I was tasked with creating a friendly, family night style type of graphic that showcased 3 activities for staying the night in. In the stock image, the popcorn was the only original item. The rest had to be added in and the shadows and lighting had to be composited in.

A playful little detail I added, was to have the Scrabble letters be the same letters used in "Amazon Prime Now."

The goal of this project was to create mock ups for Amazon's new AmazonCash service. The idea was to make decals to display in store windows to identify participating merchants and give a simple explanation of  how to use the service. 

The icons were something I designed to match the bold, simplified design of Amazon's brand standards. While I did not design the information banner, the icons I designed have been used across various informational and promotional material for the Cash services. 

I am currently on the look out for retailers that have the decal on display. 

These were two different sets of Christmas tiles that I had to make for the holiday season. 

The first set (top row) was me trying to incorporate a visual pun and also communicating a sense of urgency to visitors. It was a little tricky since almost all of the stock illustrations needed to be altered to fit within zulily's brand guidelines. 

The bottom two rows are the second set. I wanted to use patterns and colors that we normally don't see around Christmas time in the US. so, using my girlfriend's heritage as an inspiration, I looked to traditional Scandinavian décor, patterns, and colors. I didn't want it to be a total copy of the references I was using, so I went with a similar color palette and patterns that paid homage to the inspirations. 

Official assets were provided along with a pretty strict style/branding guide from Disney. 

I was charged with making a composition for our square home page tiles that featured 3 characters each (1 light side, 1 dark side). The original plan had been to animate both versions, but the Merchandising team decided that animating one with the 3 main characters would be more effective.
